  • What is Knauf?

Knauf is a leading manufacturer providing gypsum-based building materials in the UK. They provide insulation and rockwool materials that include loft roll, cavity slabs, fire panels and plasterboard to name a few. These products can be used for insulation applications of lofts, roofs, and walls.

    Why use Knauf?

Knauf insulation materials have great thermal conductivity, sounds absorption and reaction to fire classifications. Insulation helps to create a dry, comfortable indoor living and working environment in residentials and commercial buildings. It also helps to have a positive impact on a person’s health by preventing air leaks, uncontrolled condensation and possible mould spores, mildew or microbial organic compounds. A well-insulated, airtight building envelope also contributes to the health of a building, particularly if combined with efficient installation solutions and a controlled ventilation system. Good quality insulation can help save energy bills on both residential and commercial buildings by keeping the temperature regulated.

    Products:

    Knauf Cavity Slabs

Knauf Dritherm Cavity Slabs are made up of glass mineral wall. It is a water-repellent slab, designed for use in external full-fill masonry cavity walls, that offers great thermal performance in the range. It is non-combustible with the best possible Euroclass A1 reaction to fire classification and is manufactured using Knauf Insulation's unique bio-based binder, ECOSE® Technology. The cavity barrier minimises the risk of fire spreading through the cavity. The slabs are designed for easy application and to fit in between wall ties without the need for retaining discs. The types of products in the Dritherm range include:

Knauf Dritherm Cavity Slab 32 – Cavity Slab 32 is 1200mm x 455mm and has thicknesses ranging from 75mm to 100mm and offers the best thermal conductivity in the range. Thermal Conductivity 0.032W/mK.

Knauf Dritherm Cavity Slab 37 – Cavity Slab 37 is 1200mm x 455mm and has thicknesses ranging from 75mm to 100mm and offers the best thermal conductivity in the range. Thermal Conductivity 0.037W/mK.

    Knauf Acoustic Roll

Knauf Insulation Acoustic Roll – Acoustic Roll is glass mineral wool roll, generally used for internal walls and floors applications which is compression packed and light weight for easy installation. Acoustic Rolls are designed to absorb sound and reduce sounds throughout the property. Acoustic Roll is a very popular product when providing noise reduction in the residential or commercial property. Thermal Conductivity ranges between 0.032W/mK and 0.039W/mK.

    Knauf Plasterboards

Knauf Wallboard Plasterboard – Wallboards are commonly used to create partitions, linings, and ceilings. This product is versatile, easy to install and strong.

Knauf Sound Panel Acoustic Plasterboard – Sound panels offers extra levels of sound performance and is a great alternative to standard plasterboard when creating a partition wall within a residential or commercial environment. This will help prevent too much sound entering another room / space.

Knauf Fire Shield Fire Panel Plasterboard – Fire panels are designed to deliver up to one hour of fire resistance in order to provide protection for your residentials or commercial building in the unlikely event of a fire. Fire panels offer a protective layer designed to be fixed to each side of standard Fire panels and can be found at thicknesses as thin as 12.5mm and 15mm.

Knauf Moisture Panel Plasterboard – Moisture Panels are designed with moisture repellent additives within the board and a metallised outer film. Moisture panels are a great option whenever water or moisture could be present such as outer walls and roofs and / or bathrooms and kitchens.

Knauf Loft rolls – Knauf insulations most widely held product is loft roll insulation.

Knauf Insulation Loft Roll 44 combi-cut – Loft Roll 44 is glass mineral wool roll, generally used for pitched roof applications which is compression packed and light weight for easy installation. Thermal Conductivity 0.044W/mK. Loft Roll 44 is available in ready-cut rolls, uncut rolls, combi-cut roll and short length combi cut rolls.

Knauf Insulation Frametherm Roll – Frametherm is glass mineral wool roll, generally used for timber frame walls and pitched roof applications which is compression packed and light weight for easy installation. Thermal Conductivity ranging between 0.032W/mK and 0.044W/mK. Frametherm rolls are available in ready-cut rolls.

Why is insulating your loft correctly so important?

Insulations can help regulate the properties temperature. This means that the building will be warmer in cold weather and cooler in hot weather. This will provide you home or office with more comfort and a healthier workplace.

Did you know 25% of heat loss in a home is through the roof?

Loft insulation is a quick and cost-effective way to improve your buildings energy efficiency. This results in reduced energy consumption which can save you money on your energy bills. When installed and maintained correctly loft insulation can last for 40 years.

Using loft insulation can mean you are using less energy. This means it will have less negative impact on the environment. It will also help reduce carbon footprint and reduce chemicals from being released into the environment that are from air conditioning.
