Kingspan Kooltherm K7 Pitched Roof Boards are part of the Kooltherm range. The boards are made up of a fibre-free rigid thermoset phenolic core with low emissivity foil facings bonded to both sides which is designed to resist any moisture or water vapour which provides extra protection for the roof. Kingspan Kooltherm offers twice the thermal performance than any standard insulating materials that can be applied for roof insulation.
Kingspan Kooltherm K7 Pitched Roof board is designed specifically to be applied to tiled or slated warm pitched roof spaces however this insulation board can be applied to multiple forms of application. Kooltherm K7 can provide a more comfortable living environment with more temperature control, it can also help save money on monthly energy bills.
The Kingspan Kooltherm board’s unmatched quality is used my builders and architects across the UK and comes highly recommended. The K7 Pitched Roof Board is produced using a blend of blowing agents which are CFC/HCFC free. This insulation board has zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and features low global warming potential. These features make it completely environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Insulating your home will create a more sustainable and energy efficient environment by stopping the hot air from escaping your home, this will contribute towards tackling climate change and global warming. Kingspan is committed to providing sustainable insulation materials, all Kingspan packaging is completely recyclable.
This board can be cut using a fine-toothed saw or a knife. Kingspan boards should be stored in a weatherproof environment on a flat surface. If indoor storage is not available, the panels should be piled clear of the ground with weatherproof. Boards must not be allowed to get wet and if they do get wet, they should not be used.
Kingspan Kooltherm K7 can be installed in a range of methods. These methods include:
Fully Filled Insulation Between Rafters
Partially Filled Insulation Between Rafters

HOW TO INSTALL KOOLTHERM K7 PITCHED ROOF BOARDS
Step 1:
Measure the space in between each individual rafter as each rafter can differ in size. The insulation boards should then be measured and cut to size using a fine-toothed saw. The thickness of the insulation boards should match the depth of the rafters so the boards when installed sit flush.
Step 2:
Push the measured and cut insulation boards into the space between the rafters all the way to the back of the space. Once all the spaces between the rafters have been filled and the wall is complete make sure the insulation boards sit flush with the rafters from top to bottom. If two boards are being installed next to one another, they should be tightly butted together to avoid thermal bridging.
Step 3:
Insulation boards or insulated plasterboards should be fixed horizontally over the installed insulation boards into the rafters. The insulated plasterboards should sit flush with all edges of the rafters. The appropriate fixings should be applied to fix the boards to the rafters.
Notes:
– If the insulation boards are fitted into the rafters to tight, a hand saw can be used to run the blade down each side of the boards to achieve a better fit.
– Foil tape can be applied to any joins where insulation boards are butted together to provide better thermal quality.
– Ensure your fixings are long enough to penetrate through both the board and the rafters.
– Protective clothing is recommended to prevent particles that are produced from cutting insulation boards. The particles can be dangerous if inhaled or irritating to the skin and eye areas. Goggles, face masks, and gloves can also be worn to provide protection.
– Always follow guidelines provided by the insulation manufacturer when installing your materials.
– Always consult a building professional before installing insulation to prevent damage being done your home.
– If you are going on to plaster your insulated plasterboard, mesh tape should be applied at the joins where the boards are butted together, and the beading applied the corner edges using the appropriate fixings.
– K7 pitched roof rafter boards can also be applied to other methods of insulation.
