This 72.5mm Recticel Insulated Plasterboard (Eurothane PL) is an innovative that combines plasterboard and PIR insulation into one board. The total dimensions per board are 2.4m x 1.2m, which equates to a total coverage of 2.88m2.
Eurothane PL is a high-performance board, which has a closed-cell structure, providing excellent thermal efficiency. The core is free from CFCs and HCFCs, ensuring zero ozone depletion potential. This makes it an environmentally friendly choice.
Eurothane PL 72.5mm Recticel Insulated Plasterboard) is known for its excellent thermal properties. The board itself boasts a thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mk. This ensures excellent performance as well as energy efficiency. By installing insulation, you can cut down heat loss in a building and reduce your carbon footprint. The reduction in heat loss means that the need for heating is also reduced, therefore cutting energy bills.
Another excellent quality of the Eurothane PL board is that it has a compressive strength of ≥ 120 kPa. This means it is a durable choice. In addition to this, the board has straight edges with tapered edges on the long sides.
The 72.5mm Eurothane PL board consists of bonded 12.5mm plasterboard and 25mm PIR. It is also faced with a gas diffusion-tight multilayer foil on both sides. When it comes to installation, you can use mechanical fixings or install it using the dot and dab method.
This board also has built-in vapour resistance, which helps to control moisture movement.
Eurothane PL boards can be cut using a utility knife. The process of cutting is simple. First, you need to score the plasterboard surface and ensure the insulation layer is also cut through. Once you have scored the board, it can be snapped along the cut line. Once you have snapped this off, the front paper facing can be neatly trimmed to fully separate the panel.
For thicker sizes, you can use a handsaw or circular saw. This will provide a clean and precise cut through the board.
