Isover Party Wall Roll can be cut using a sharp knife. The material should be laid flat onto a board that can be disregarded after. A ruler or plank of wood can be used to hold the roll down flat and keep it in place, a Stanley blade can then be slid along with the insulation roll next to the ruler. The tighter the insulation is held the easier it is to cut. Protective gloves and eye goggles are recommended when cutting mineral wool rolls are the produced particles that can irritate the skin and eyes.
The Isover rolls are moisture and rot resistant which means they will prevent dampness or condensation from forming between the adjoining walls and if dampness does occur the boards will not be affected or start to rot. The party wall rolls are extremely durable and if installed correctly will last for as long as the building does.
How does Isover RD Party Wall insulation work?
Isover Party Wall insulation helps to reduce unwanted noise between adjacent properties when used as part of a Robust Detail construction. The party wall insulation will stop the heat from escaping the building by acting as a block and will prevent sound from travelling through the walls by acting as a barrier and reflecting the sound back to the original sound source.
The Isover RD Party Wall Roll is thoroughly tested and recycled. The insulation roll is known for its far-reaching durability and strength. This Isover product is covered by SpecSure Warranty which means that it comes with a guarantee of non-ageing lifetime performance on utilisation as a part of British Gypsum systems.

What is a Party Wall?
A party wall is a wall that is built to separate two adjoining homes such as semi-detached houses or terraced houses. If you live in a semi-detached or terraced property built before 1990, it’s likely that you have a gap in the wall between you and your neighbour’s property which is called a party wall. This space allows cold air to move up and down resulting in heat loss.
What is Isover RD Party Wall insulation?
Isover Party wall insulation is an insulation material designed to be installed in the party wall separating two properties in order to improve thermal conductivity or to reduce the transmission of noise travelling between the two houses.
How is Party Wall insulation installed?
Party Wall insulation can be installed during a standard house build or it can be added at a later date to homes that have had cavity wall insulation installed in the past. Party Wall insulation can now be installed quickly by drilling a hole in the relevant walls and then injecting mineral wool, polystyrene beads, or other types of insulation materials into the cavity. The drill hole is then filled, and the wall is refinished to match the rest of the wall.
Do I need party wall insulation
If you’re having problems with the party wall in your property such as too much noise from the neighbours adjoining property or a draught / cold spot from that particular wall, a specialist can be called in to see what kind of insulation material will be needed and the best method of installation. It is then ultimately your decision on whether party wall insulation is practical and cost-effective for you.
What are the other benefits of party wall insulation?
- Party wall insulation will save you money on your energy bills by reducing the amount of heat escaping from the property and the cold air coming in.
- Isover party wall roll will increase the thermal performance within your property.
- This can make your home a more comfortable environment that is temperature-controlled with lower noise levels produced from adjoining properties.
- Your home will be more energy-efficient and sustainable by helping to tackle climate change and global warming by reducing the escaping heat levels.
Please note your property might qualify for fully funded party wall insulation. If you decide to go ahead with the party wall insulation, and you have an old or inefficient boiler, you may be able to get a boiler upgrade for free too.
Always call a specialist to install your Cavity wall insulation to prevent problems occurring in the future or damages being made to the property.
