50mm Ecotherm PIR Boards
Ecotherm Insulation boards are an insulation material designed to improve a buildings thermal conductivity. The Ecotherm boards consist of a polyisocyanurate (PIR) core with low emissivity composite foil facings bonded to each side of the board. The boards are manufactured with a blowing agent that is CFC/HCFC free and has zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) with a low Global Warming Potential (GWP). The boards can be used for multi-purpose applications including walls, floors, ceilings and roofs. The boards are available in sizes 1200mm by 2400mm and available in thicknesses ranging from 25mm to 150mm. They provide a thermal conductivity of just 0.022W/mK. The insulation boards are extremely durable and should last for as long as the building does if installed correctly. However, Ecotherm Insulation boards should not be used in damp conditions. The polyisocyanurate core of Eco-Versal boards has a low moisture absorption capacity when used for floor construction. The boards should not be placed near any structures with water passage or near pipes as this can cause damage to the boards.
- 140 kPa when tested at 10% compression
- Resistance to solvents, fungi & rodents
- Extremely durable
- Excellent thermal insulation
- Better dimensional stability
- Lightweight but sturdy
- Multi-purpose insulation applications
Insulation boards provide excellent thermal conductivity which will provide a more temperature-controlled environment within a residential or commercial property. Meaning the property will be cooler in the summer and hotter in the winter. The board helps to reduce hot air escaping from the property which will save money on money energy bills and create a more energy efficient environment. Creating a more energy-efficient environment will help toward reducing global warming and will contribute towards preventing climate change making a more sustainable property.
The Ecotherm insulation boards are lightweight and easy to cut, handle, and install, the Ecotherm boards can be cut by using a fine-toothed saw. The boards should be measured and marked if necessary. It is recommended that the boards are cut on a higher surface providing room for the saw to cut through the board. The boards can also be cut with a knife by scoring one side of the board, snapping the board over a hard edge, and then scoring the other side of the facing.
When cutting insulation boards protective gear is recommended. When cutting the boards, they can produce particles that should not be inhaled and can irritate the skin and eyes. The recommended gear is protective clothing, a face mask, eye goggles, and gloves.
Ecotherm Insulation Boards can be installed in a range of methods. These methods include:
- Floors including underfloor heating systems
- Pitched roofs and cold flat roofs
- Walls, including timber frame walls, solid walls, and dormer cheeks
- Roofs, including ceilings and room-in-the-roof applications
