Actis Hybris Panel is a high-performance insulation material designed to improve the thermal conductivity of residential and commercial buildings.
Hybris panels are manufactured with a special structure composed of a large number of low emissivity cavities that are protected from dust and excessive air movement. They are designed with a honeycomb structure made of shaped polyethylene foams glued to aluminium coated polyethylene foil facings on each side. Moreover, the low emissivity multifoil layers reduce heat transfer and provide additional thermal resistance, when associated with air cavities. Reflective insulation products remove cold air infiltration in the winter and warm air infiltration in the summer.
Key features of Actis Hybris Multifoil Insulation include:
- Quick and easy to install
- Unique structure
- Does not compact over time
- No irritating fibres
- Flexible – thermal bridging is virtually eliminated
- Exceptional thermal performance
- High acoustic comfort
- Wind and moisture resistant
- Lightweight; easy to carry, transport and store
Hybris is a reflective insulation product that can be used for timber frame or masonry walls, pitched roofs or ceiling applications. This product is 1145mm by 1200mm and available in thickness ranging from 50mm to 205mm. This product provides a thermal conductivity of 0.033W/mK.
The Actis Hybris panel is lightweight and easy to cut, handle and install. The panels can be cut by ensuring the measurements are correct and using a sharp blade or saw and should be kept in the packaging whilst cutting. This product is made using non-irritant fibres meaning no protective clothing is needed when installing this material as it should not cause any form of reaction.
The Hybris provides effective thermal insulation all year round. During the summer the heat is reflected outwards, keeping your property cool and comfortable. In winter, heat is preserved within the building and cold air is prevented from entering creating a more temperature-controlled environment. Providing your living or working space with the correct insulation materials can create a more energy efficient environment. By reducing the amount of heat escaping the property you are contributing to reducing global warming and tackling climate change.
The Hybris product is durable and long lasting, expected to remain effective for the service life of the building providing that it is installed in correctly. A building professional should always be consulted before insulating any residential or commercial building.
Products should be stored in clean, dry conditions, not exposed to sunlight and in such a way that dirt and dust does not adhere to the product surfaces. The products must be protected from being dropped or crushed by objects and must be stored away from flammable material such as solvents.
Actis Hybris Panels can be installed in a range of methods. These methods include:

How to install guide – Timber Frame Applications.
Before removing the product from the packaging, tap the panels down to ensure they are level before cutting. Then measure the spaces between the timber frames and mark the HYBRIS pack approximately 5-10mm wider than the gap between the timbers.
Cut HYBRIS approximately 5-10mm wider than the gap between timbers. Keep the products in their original packaging whilst cutting and ensure an accurate cut. HYBRIS can be easily cut with insulation saw, standard hand saw, or an electric alligator saw. The polyethylene packaging is fully recyclable and can be quickly removed using an ACTIS cutter or a knife, but care should be taken not to damage product.
Hold both ends of the embossed copper-coloured face and pull the product open. Turn HYBRIS over and hold the silver-coloured face and repeat the pulling action
Always install HYBRIS with the embossed copper-coloured film facing the inside (warm side) of the building. Open HYBRIS to the length of 1200mm and friction fit by installing the product into the spaces within the frame and up against the OSB, ensuring a good fit between the insulation and timber and taking care that the insulation thickness is maintained and fits the depth of the frame. Friction fit the next panel as before and ensure there is a good fit between the two pieces of insulation and to any joints with timber to avoid thermal bridging. For extra support, staple HYBRIS through the embossed copper-coloured film and one foam layer to horizontal timbers (e.g. top and bottom rail). Tape adjacent HYBRIS panels with Actis tape. Repeat between all studs.
How to install guide – Pitched roof applications.
Always install HYBRIS with the embossed copper-coloured film facing the inside (warm side) of the building. Open HYBRIS to the length of 1200mm and friction fit by installing the product into the opening between the rafters, ensuring a good fit between the insulation and timber and taking care that the insulation thickness is maintained. Friction fit the next panel as before and ensure there is a good fit between the two pieces of insulation and to any joints with timber. Tape adjacent HYBRIS panels with Actis tape. For extra support, staple HYBRIS through the embossed copper-coloured film and one foam layer to horizontal timbers (e.g. ridge beam and wall plate). Repeat between all rafters.
