Knauf Rocksilk slabs are an insulation product made up to rock mineral wool designed for use in multiple thermal and acoustic applications within residential and commercial buildings. The slabs are lightweight and easy to cut, handle, and install. The slabs are non-combustible with the best possible Euroclass A1 reaction to fire classification and is manufactured using Knauf Insulation's unique bio-based binder, ECOSE Technology.

The Rocksilk Slabs are 1200mm by 600mm and come in a variety of thickness with thermal conductivities between 0.034W/mK and 0.037W/mK. The standard product is supplied unfaced, but slabs can also be manufactured with a factory applied foil or tissue facing and are also available with a water repellent additive. These slabsĀ are manufactured using Knauf Insulations unique bio-based binder, ECOSE Technology.

The Rocksilk slabs are extremely durable and when installed correctly this product should have a lifespan that lasts for as long as the buildings. The slabs are odourless, rot proof, non-hygroscopic, does not sustain vermin and do not encourage the growth of mould, fungi, or bacteria.

Benefits of Knauf Rocksilk Slabs

  • Multi-purpose product which can be used to insulate a wide range of applications on site.
  • Slabs are compression packed and easily moved
  • Flexible on all four sides for quick and simple installation.
  • Existing ceilings can be retained on a loft upgrade whilst meeting building regulations.
  • Odourless, non-hygroscopic, rot proof, do not sustain vermin and will not encourage the growth of fungi, mould, or bacteria
  • Easy to handle and install, being lightweight and easy to cut to size
  • Vapour resistance of 7.00 MN. s/g.m.
  • Free from CFCs, HCFCs and any other material with ozone depletion potential (ODP),
  • Non-wicking
  • The Knauf slabs is resistant to damp and condensation and should not rot even if it is in the affected area.

Application

This slab can be applied in general thermal, acoustic and roof insulation. It can also be used for Multi-Application, Ground floors, Internal floors, separating floors, Pitched roofs at rafter level, Internal walls/partitions, Light steel frame walls, and Timber frame walls. RocksilkĀ RS45 Universal Slabs are used for a wide range of thermal and acoustic insulation applications in buildings, building services and industry. This product can be used for insulating:

What is difference between the products in the RS100 range?

The Rocksilk range is designed for insulation projects where product density is crucial. The RS range differs in thicknesses available for each product and the density of each product differs. For example, the RS45 slab has a density of 45kg/m3, the RS60 slab has a density of 60kg/m3 and so on.

What is difference between the products in the Rocksilk range and the flexible slab?

The Rocksilk range is designed for applications where the density of the product is critical to the project and structure of the property. The flexible slabs are a general-purpose slab that can be used for multiple applications where a standard density is required.
