37.5mm Celotex Insulated plasterboard
37.5mm Celotex PIR Insulated Plasterboards also known as PL4025 are made up of a 25mm rigid Polyisocyanurate (PIR) core bonded to a 12.5mm gypsum plasterboard. Insulated plasterboards are a two-in-one product designed to save you time and money on your projects. The boards can be installed within residential and commercial buildings and can be applied to multiple applications including solid wall insulation, timber frame lining, and beneath rafter and joist applications.
The Celotex 37.5mm Insulated Plasterboard is 2400mm x 1200mm with a coverage of 2.88m2. This board gives a thermal conductivity of just 0.022W/mK and a thermal resistance of 1.45m2K/W. The full range can be found below.
Alternative Products To Celotex Insulated Plasterboard
This board is an alternative to applying PIR insulation boards and plasterboards separately.
Celotex 25mm PIR Insulation boards and British Gypsum 12.5mm plasterboards can be combined as a great alternative to a 37.5mm board.
Kingspan Kooltherm K118 37.5mm Insulated Plasterboards are a premium alternative with an incredible thermal conductivity of just 0.019W/mK.
Will insulated plasterboards cause damp?
Before installing Insulated Plasterboards, the area should be checked to ensure it is damp and rot free and if not, the area should be treated by a professional. This prevents the damp spreading to mould or rot which can cause structural damage to the property.
100mm Recticel & Celotex PIR Insulation Boards
Both Recticel and Celotex manufacture a 100mm Insulation Board. The 100mm PIR Insulation boards are made up of a rigid Polyisocyanurate (PIR) core bonded to low emissivity foil facings on each side. These boards are a great product due to their versatility and ease of use. 100mm can be installed within residential and commercial buildings, they can be applied to multiple applications including:
Walls:
Solid walls, Partition walls, Timber stud walls, Timer frame sheathing, and over timber rafter applications.
Flat Roofs:
Balconies and terraces, Between timber joists, and below timber joists applications
Pitched Roofs:
Below timber rafters, Between timer rafters, and Sarking applications.
Floors:
Concrete solid floor, Suspended floor applications, and Beam and block applications.
The Celotex and Recticel 100mm Insulation Board is 2400mm x 1200mm with a coverage of 2.88m2. This board gives a thermal conductivity of just 0.022W/mK and a thermal resistance of 4.50m2K/W.
Celotex boards (TB4000, GA4000, XR4000) are available in thicknesses between 20mm and 200mm. You can find the full range of both products below:

100mm Knauf Acoustic Roll
100mm Knauf Acoustic Rolls are made up of a non-combustible glass mineral wool designed to provide sound absorption and reduce noise transfer between rooms and buildings. These rolls will prevent sounds like media noise, footsteps, chatter, and noise travelling from your house through to the neighbouring property. The rolls can be installed within residential and commercial buildings and can be applied to multiple applications including separating walls and floors, external walls and floors, and stud partitions.
100mm Knauf Acoustic roll has a width of 2x600mm with a coverage of 12.36m2. This roll gives a thermal conductivity of 0.035W/mK and come in thicknesses from 25mm to 100mm. Each thickness of the roll has a different coverage size.
25mm – 26.64m2
Isover acoustic rolls are a great alternative product to Knauf. The Isover 100mm acoustic roll has a width of 2x600mm with a coverage of 11m2 as well as a thermal conductivity of 0.035W/mK.
Can acoustic roll be installed in the loft floor?
No, acoustic rolls cannot be used in between rafters within the loft as the loft requires a minimum thickness of 270mm and acoustic rolls range from 25mm to 100mm, therefore this product is not recommended as a loft insulator.
100mm Knauf Loft Roll
100mm Knauf Lofts Rolls are made up of a non-combustible glass mineral wool designed for easy application in between rafters within the loft. These rolls will prevent heat rising within the building and escaping through the loft / roof space, ultimately saving you money on energy bills. The rolls can be installed within residential and commercial buildings between the rafters on the loft floor.
100mm Knauf Loft roll has a width of either 2 x 570mm or 3 x 380mm with a coverage of 13.89m2. This roll gives a thermal conductivity of just 0.044W/mK and comes in thicknesses from 100mm to 200mm. Each roll thickness has a different coverage size.
Isover Spacesaver loft rolls are a great alternative product to Knauf with a thermal conductivity of 0.044W/mK. The Isover 100mm rolls are slightly bigger in size and have a width of 3 x 386mm and 2 x 580mm with a coverage of 14.13m2.
Another Knauf Loft roll alternative is the Superglass Multi Roll 44, with widths of 2×600/3×400 and a 0.044W/mK thermal conductivity.
Is loft roll 44 acoustic?
Knauf loft roll 44 has acoustic qualities and will reduce sound levels travelling however its thermal qualities are greater than the acoustic qualities. See the below link for Acoustic insulation materials.
Rockwool RWA45
Rockwool RWA45 is made up of high-quality resin bonded Rock mineral slabs. RWA45 slabs are designed to provide quality acoustic, thermal and fire performance within residential and commercial buildings and can be applied to multiple applications including partition walls, ceilings, floors, roofs, and so on. RWA45 also has water repellent qualities that can prevent moisture from building up which can cause dampness, condensation, and rot.
The Rockwool RWA45 is 1200mm x 600mm with coverage of 0.72m2. This board gives a thermal conductivity of 0.035W/mK and is available in a range of thickness from 25mm to 120mm. See our full range of Rockwool RWA45 below:
Rockwool RWA45 is a part of the RW range. The full Rockwool RW range can be found on our website.
The Knauf RS45 is a great alternative product to RWA45. The RS45 slab is 1200mm x 600mm with a density of 45kg/m3 and a thermal conductivity of 0.035W/mK.
How do you cut Rockwool products?
A serrated or sharp knife is always the best way to cut stone wool, hold the slab between two hard surfaces such as a wooden joist and a board over the top and simply cut with the knife.
